E-MAIL: Richard C. Shisler, R.C.SHISLER@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue an IFB for Replacement of 500 KVA and 300 KVA Unit Substations at Building 1273A, Langley Research Center. The work to be performed includes: Reading and recording watthour meters No.260 and No.261 and removing the watthour meters and enclosures; Disconnecting the primary and secondary feeders to the temporary 500 KVA transformer and removing and transporting the transformer to Building 1157, 20 Hunsaker Loop, West Area, for storage. Approximate distance from building 1273A is 0.5 miles; Disconnecting the primary and secondary feeders, equipment grounds, heaters, and PTs and CTs from the 500 KVA, 480 volt and the 300 KVA, 208 unit substations; Disconnecting the energy monitoring panels, monitoring CTs, telephone circuits, conduit, and circuit wiring which shall be retained for installing and connecting in the new unit substations. All wiring, conduit and connections damaged during demolition shall be replaced, by the Contractor with new or equ! al rating at no additional cost to the Government; Transporting and disposing of removed equipment as defined in Section 01011; Furnishing and installing new 5 KV fused switch No. 4390; Furnishing and installing a new 300 KVA, 120/208 volt unit substation and a new 500 KVA, 277/480 volt unit substation, each with a 5 KV fused primary switch and switchgear; Reconnecting primary and secondary feeders to the switchgear, installing energy monitoring panels, current sensors, and energy monitoring circuits, metering circuits, telephone circuits, heaters, and 120 volt utility circuits; Installing the grounding conductors from the new equipment to the substation grounding grid; Performing the field checks and tests on Contractor installed equipment; Energizing the substation and verifying the voltages and phase rotation and Removing all debris from the site. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between,000 and,000 and the effort shall be completed wi! thin 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1629 and M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about December 31, 1999 with an anticipated bid closing date of on or about January 31, 2000.
