2000 The Transit Development Corporation's Board of Directors met in
Washington, D.C., on October 28-29, 1999, and selected the following
new projects for the Transit Cooperative Research Program in fiscal
year 2000: A-24, Self-Service Fare Collection: Current Practice and
Relationship with Security; B-23, Resource Requirements for Demand
Responsive Services; F-10, Transit Operator Fatigue: A Toolbox for U.S.
Operators; H-24, Public Transit Policy Boards: Organizations and
Characteristics; H-25, Impact of TEA-21 Commuter Choice Programs (New
Transit, Vanpool, and Qualified Parking Federal Tax Benefits) on
Transit and Auto Use; H-26, Economic Benefits of Coordinating Human
Service Transportation and Transit Services. Preliminary scopes of work
for each project are available on the Internet at
http://www4.nas.edu/trb/crp.nsf under "Anticipated Projects." Project
Statements inviting proposals will be available at the same Internet
site beginning around April 2000. You may register electronically at
the same site for notification of project statement postings. Inquiries
