The United States Air force is requesting quotes for the furnishing of all construction, and supervisory services, including but not limited to all plant, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to maintain and overhaul existing 450 ton chiller unit at Building 2, Room 105, Cape Cod Air Station, Sagamore, MA. The project involves all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, supervisory services, and performance of all operations required performing inspection of machine and report in written format any problems, remove oil and perform proper disposal in accordance with current local, state, and federal hazardous waste statutes and regulations, evacuate existing refrigerant and store for later use, disassemble unit and inspect all parts, replace faulty motor rotor with new motor rotor, supply and replace all bearings, supply and replace thrust shoes, supply and replace all o-rings, supply and replace all seals, remove and replace oil and refrigerant filters, re-shim impellers, reassemble unit, start up and operational check. All civil, mechanical, and electrical services will be provided unless specifically stated otherwise in the Statement of Work The result of the quotes will be a firm fixed price contract. There will be 110 calendar days from the receipt of the notice to proceed, including lead times and prep time to complete the work. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.00. THE SITE VISIT WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, 10 January 2000, at 2:00 P.M. YOU MUST FORWARD TO THIS OFFICE NO LATER THAN CLOSE OF BUSINESS, 07 January 2000 THE FULL NAME AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OF THOSE WHO WILL BE ATTENDING THE SITE VISIT. THOSE ATTENDING THE VISIT BE ADVISED A PICTURE ID WILL BE REQUIRED. IF NO PICTURE ID IS AVAILABLE, TWO (2) OTHER FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED. IF A CONTRACTOR SHOWS UP AND IS NOT ON THE LIST THEY WILL NOT BE BROUGHT ONTO THE SECURED INSTALLATION. ANY NAMES RECEIVED AFTER 07 January 2000, WILL BE DISCARDED. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Steven H. Sheldon, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development.
