Biological Chemical Command, on behalf of the United States Marine
Corps, is conducting MARKET RESEARCH for sources capable of producing
a commercial Multi Function Engineer's Tool. The Engineer's Tool
required functions are to cut, strip, and crimp wire of varying
diameters, as well as act as a spike punch. The tool shall be corrosion
resistant, due to exposure to salt water spray and brief submersion,
and shall be non-conductive. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH
AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES/PROPOSALS.
The objective of this synopsis is to identify as to whether the product
is commercially available (to include non-developmental items or
modified commercial items). Businesses capable of providing the
required items are invited to submit an affirmative response to this
notice. Interested businesses are requested to submit capability
statements, catalogs, product literature, warranty terms and
conditions, specifications that describes the product, and product
capability by January 14, 2000. Please submit any information to the

SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT

NOR WILL THE GOVERNMENT PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO
SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. Companies shall indicate whether or not

and the Business Size is 500 Employees. In accordance with section
225.7002 Restrictions on food, clothing, fabrics, specialty metals, and
hand or measuring tools' of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations
Supplement (DFAS), the procurement of Hand Tools is restricted to only
those produced in the United States or its possessions. THE DEADLINE
