aisha.ross@dover.af.mil. DORMITORY FURNITURE MARKET RESEARCH We are
currently in the process of performing market research to examine the
possibility of long term contracts for procuring on going dorm
furniture needs and to select the style we will require for the
furnishings. The furnishings and accessories must be of good/high
quality and make efficient and practicable use of limited space. Since
the dorm residents will use this furniture on a daily basis, our goal
is to find furniture that has style, comfort, and durability (grade 3
or 4). We would like information on furniture styles that meet these
criteria and that do not present an "institutional' atmosphere. The
furnishings should present a "homey" atmosphere. In lieu of individual
solicitations throughout the year we are looking into the feasibility
of a long term contract for a specific style of furniture. For a long
term contract to work the style of furniture selected will need to be
in production for at least 4 years after initial purchase and be able
to mixed or matched. However, we do not believe it will be cost
effective to artificially support a production line. Please submit to
us any data on average production line life spans and any other data
relating to commercial furniture manufacturing processes you feel will
help us in determining the pros/cons of long term contracts for
specific furniture items. All product literature or other information
must be sent NLT than January 10,2000. Send product literature via
email (aisha.ross@dover.af.mil) or by mail to: SSgt. Aisha Ross 639
