A -- COUNTERMEASURES HANDS-ON PROGRAM (CHOP) PRESOLICITATION CONFERENCE BRIEFING The United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Phillips Research Site, via the Commerce Business Daily, published a Sources Sought Synopsis on 6 December 1999, seeking potential sources to support the goals and objectives of the Countermeasures Hands-On Program (CHOP) effort. The AFRL, tasked by the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), will support the development of U.S. Missile Defense Systems able to operate effectively against likely third world country countermeasures. The pre-solicitation conference will provide an open forum in which to discuss contractor responses to the Sources Sought Synopsis and procurement and technical requirements of the CHOP program. Findings from the CHOP pre-solicitation conference will provide the basis for release of a Request for Proposal to be issued by the AFRL/PKVE directorate shortly after the pre-solicitation conference. Pre-solicitation conference sign-in will commence at 0800 hours with briefing to follow at 0830 hours, 24 January 2000, at the Phillips Space Conference Center, Building 201, Conference Room 7, 1750 Kirtland Drive, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico 87117.
