Buyer*****, Mary.Adams@hill.Af.Mil. This announcement constitutes a
Sources Sought Synopsis. The following information is provided to
assist the Air Force in conducting a Market Research of Industry to
determine potential contractors who have the skills, experience and
knowledge required to successfully complete this effort. This is not a
Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid. Hill AFB, Utah, F-16
Support Division, Radar Section has a requirement for the manufacture
and delivery of the Floating Deck Pulser (FDP) assembly (NSN
5841-01-182-6997WF, Part Number 765R054G01). The FDP assembly is a
subassembly of the high voltage power supply located in the pressure
vessel assembly of the Dual Mode Transmitter (DMT) Line Replaceable
Unit (LRU) of the F-16 AN/APG-68 radar system. The FDP assembly
contains four major subassemblies; the light pipe-totem pole, the
rectifier/filter, the low voltage power assembly, and the high voltage
assembly. The FDP assembly controls the gating of the dual mode
traveling wave tube (DMTWT) that provides high power RF to the
AN/APG-68 Radar antenna. In addition, the FDP assembly provides heater
voltages for the DMTWT. The Air Force would like to replace this FDP
Shop Replaceable Unit (SRU) with a new design, under the Falcon Flex
Program (Form, Fit and Function Interface Requirement). We are seeking
contractors who are interested in designing and manufacturing high
reliability FDP assemblies using modern technology and/or commercial
items rather than traditional build to print requirements. Interested
parties would be required to design a new FDP assembly and manufacture
as many as 1,500 units to replace the existing units. Interested
parties are requested to submit two copies of a summary of the
capabilities and facilities they have which will allow them to perform
the development and manufacture of a new FDP assembly. The government
does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise
pay for the information solicited. Written responses must be submitted
by 27 Jan 2000 to OO-ALC/LGKE, ATTN: MaryLynne Adams, 6072 Fir Ave,
Hill AFB, UT 84056-5820. No telephone or FAX requests will be accepted.
No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly
from the requestor are acceptable. Electronic procedure will be used
for this solicitation. See our Web page. Posted 12/22/99 (I-SN411004).
