K&LocID=904. E-MAIL: Traci Dietz, traci.dietz@wpafb.af.mil. Air Force
Research Laboratory, Sensors Directorate, Aerospace Components &
Subsystems Concepts Division (AFRL/SNDM ) solicits research proposals
for the Aerospace Sensor Component and Subsystem Investigation and
Innovation -- 1 (ASCSII-1) -- Component Analysis and Integration --
(CAI) Program. The objective of the ASCSII-1 -- CAI Program is to
investigate, model, analyze, develop, test, and demonstrate radio
frequency (RF) and photonic component and subsystem technologies for
ground, air and space sensor applications including Intelligence,
Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Command, Control, and
Communications (C3), Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and Electronic
Warfare (EW). This program is focused on supporting Air Force and DoD
near and far-term requirements and needs. Technology programs must
address evolutionary component improvements through technology
refinement and optimization processes as well as those of a
revolutionary scale that can redefine the way a mission is conducted.
Included in the scope of the program are the requirements to
investigate, analyze, and focus technologies associated with component
and subsystem configuration, producibility, yield, and affordability.
Further, the program must have the flexibility to accommodate
unanticipated technology developments having short suspense times. The
ASCSII-1 -- CAI Program provides for contracted exploratory and
advanced development levels of technical effort. The goals are to
mature relevant technology to the point that a successful air and/or
space demonstration is viable, and to develop integrated air and space
concepts that are optimized to meet the critical needs of the above
military missions. Interested offerors may view and/or download the
full PRDA solicitation by accessing the Electronic Posting System (EPS)
homepage at http://www.eps.gov/. Direct questions to the Contracting
point of contact identified in the announcement. Posted 12/22/99
