Genee.Ringel@hill.Af.Mil. Market Survey. Repair of Infrared Detector
Optics Assemblies for Maverick Missile Guidance & Control Sections: The
Guidance & Control Section (GCS) of the infrared models of Maverick
missile (AGM-65D/F/G) includes a Detector Optics Assembly (DOA)
(6615-01-195-4020). The Government projects to replace over 600 DOAs
per year, and currently buys these quantities new since they've been
considered unrepairable. However, Raytheon has recently proven the
ability to repair the DOA. The Government is considering whether this
repair process will be successful enough to warrant a permanent
reclassification of the DOA as repairable. If deemed worthwhile, the
Government may award a long-term repair contract for the DOA. While
Raytheon is the only known entity to have performed this repair
technique, the Government invites others to express their interest and
describe their capabilities. Interested candidates should immediately
contact Ali Behshad (801-777-5467), IR Maverick Engineer, OO-ALC/WMM,
6034 Dogwood Ave, Hill AFB, UT, 84056-5816. No telephone requests.
Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are
acceptable. Electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation.
