Associated work includes the relocation of some existing modular kitchen equipment and the demolition of three buildings (approximately 40,000 square feet). The magnitude of this construction project is between $5 million and $10 million. This solicitation is being advertised on an UNRESTRICTED basis inviting full and open competition. The SIC Code is 1542 and the size standard is $17 million. The resultant contract will be a Firm Fixed Price contract awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder. 20% Bid Bond requirement. Davis-Bacon wage rates are applicable. Liquidated damages are $350.00 per day with a one time fixed cost of $700.00 for legal review. Contract performance is 505 days from NTP, broken down as follows: Phase I construction -- 400 days from NTP, Hiatus for moving -- 45 days from Final acceptance of Phase I, and Phase II construction/demolition -- 60 days from NTP -- Phase II. This solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about 19 January 2000. Pre-proposal conference/job walk will be held on or about 10 February 2000. Bid opening on or about 24 February 2000. Plans, specification, and bid documents are available at a non-refundable charge of $200.00 per set. Only one set of plans and specifications are available to bidders.
