This is to resubmit SMN403798. Furnish flight services fully contractor operated and maintained consisting of one helicopter, Aerospatiale SA315Bm Llama or equal. Service is for high altitude helicopter support assisting in the management of mountaineering operations within the Alaska National Park Preserve. Search and rescue missions are common and in previous years have numbered between four and thirty, averaging about twelve. The helicopter will also be used to support other mountain management functions such as trash and sanitation projects, support for medical/rescue camp at the 14,200 foot level on the West Buttress of Mount McKinley, law enforcement, incidents including hunting patrols during the spring bear and wolf hunts, wildlife counts, etc. Operations are for the benefit of the National Park Service. Designated base is Talkeetna, Alaska. Contract period will be 90 days beginning April 10, 2000. The term of this contract wil be one year with options to renew for three additional years. The contractor is required to be certificated under 14 CFR, estimated date for issue of the solicitation is January 5, 2000 with offers due approximately January 26, 2000.
