99 -- REMOVAL, TRANSPORTING, AND INSTALLATION OF HIGH PRESSURE VESSELS (TANKS) SOL 200001 POC Robert Foye, 419-621-3201 E-MAIL: ERROR --, rfoye@grc.nasa.gov. A site showing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at 9:00 A.M., E.S.T., at the Rocket Engine Test Facility (RETF) in NASA Glenn Research Center, 21000 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH for the removal of four high pressure gas storage vessels (tanks) and the transport of the vessels to NASA Plum Brook Station, 6100 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH where they they are to be reinstalled on prepared foundations. The distance between the two points is approximately 50 miles. The details of three of the vessels are weight: 90,000 pounds; length: approximately 39 feet; diameter: approximately 50 inches. The fourth vessel weighs 15,200 pounds and is approximately 64 inches in diameter. All vessels are currently connected to various piping systems and are to be disassembled from the piping systems by the subcontractor. However, the fourth vessel is in a vertical multi-story position within an existing building. The building's metal roof, or a piece thereof, will have to be removed to accomplish the extrication. Piping and hardware items are to be removed at flanges. These may remain in sections as large as is practical to handle and transport without damage. Attendees are encouraged to return to Plum Brook Station with the Gilcrest team in order to complete the site showing by observing the Plum Brook location for the vessels. Further particulars are provided in Statement of Work 99W-K024-222000-164 which may be requested by telephoning or sending an e-mail to the number/address shown elsewhere in this notice. Requests for the Statement of Work must be made no later than 1:00 P.M., E.S.T., on Friday, January, 7, 2000. All Statements of Work will be send via FedEx. Security considerations require that all attendees register in advance no later than 1:00 P.M., E.S.T., on Tuesday, January 11, 2000 via one of the same methods to be used for requesting the Statement of Work.
