F -- AERIAL APPLICATION OF HERBICIDES AT YAKIMA TRAINING CENTER, YAKIMA, WA SOL DAKF57-00-B-0003 POC Diane Zientek, Contract Specialist, (253) 967-2151, ext. 210 Perform application of herbicides from low flying rotor wing aircraft to accomplish the following: The herbicide picloram (trade name: Tordon 22-K) will be applied, using a swath guidance system, to large blocks (100 to 2400 acres each) of range land for control of diffuse knapweed (Centaurea diffusa). Spring application to a total of approximately 4000 acres annually is anticipated; and Spring or fall application of soil residual herbicides (Krovar-Oust combination) will be made, using an application rate indicator (Raven, Crophawk or equivalent), to approximately 80 miles annually of firebreak for bare ground control. These applications will be performed at various locations throughout Yakima Training Center, a 357,000 acre sub-installation of Fort Lewis located Northeast of Yakima, Washington. Contract period will consist of Base Period and four option periods. Work for the base period shall start in March or April 2000. The proposed procurement listed here is 100 percent set-aside for small business concerns.
