from all business concerns will be accepted for the Saratoga National
Historical Park Project PRA-SARA 10(2), 12(1), 200(1), 500(1) Saratoga
County, New York. The project consists of the rehabilitation of
roadways and parking areas within the park. The work includes clearing
and grubbing, removal of inlets, pipe culverts, and asphalt pavement;
excavation, embankment, placement of aggregate base and hot asphalt
concrete pavement; installation of pipe culverts; and other
miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities
are as follows: Removal of pipe culverts: 1,970 m; Removal of asphalt
pavement: 12,700 m2; Removal of concrete pavement: 8,000 m2; Roadway
excavation: 14,200 m3; Aggregate base: 22,000 tons; Aggregate-topsoil
course: 4,900 tons; Hot asphalt concrete pavement, class B, grading B:
3,900 tons; Hot asphalt concrete pavement, class B, grading D: 9,600
tons; Hot asphalt concrete pavement, wedge and level: 4,300 tons;
Concrete headwalls (assorted sizes): 25 each;Pipe culvert (assorted
diameters): 1,800 m; End sections (assorted sizes): 150 each; Paved
waterway: 1,650 m2; Furnishing and placing topsoil, 50mm depth: 27,000
m2; Pavement markings: 30,000 m. The project is expected to fall
within the price range of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Invitation for Bids
No. DTFH71-00-B-00012 will be issued on or about January 14, 2000.

be mailed first class. It is strongly recommended that all requests for

'faxing' or overnight mailing will not be accepted. Bids will be opened
on or about February 15, 2000, at 2:00 pm, local time, at the address

Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has
bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises in acquiring short-term capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available
under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates
up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
