The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole source simplified acquisition with Data Sciences International (DSI), 4211 Lexington Avenue North, Suite 2244, St. Paul, MN 55126-6164 for a Dataquest Acquisition and Analysis System. This equipment will be used to collect physiological and behavioral data in laboratory rodents exposed to neurotoxicants. System and devices must be compatible with the existing DSI equipment in EPA laboratory. Specifically, system shall include: 1) Miniature transmitters that are surgically implanted inside rodents to measure physiological data and send signals to a receiver; 2) Receiver board that fits under the animal's cage and decodes the radio signals emanating from the telemetry receiver; 3) Intermediary connection device which takes in all signals from as many as 16 receiver boards and conveys the information to a computer; and 4) hardware and software package that operates the radiotelemetry system. The proposed purchase order action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
