BoBo, (202) 307-1940 The Department of Justice, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Ms. Patricia Henery, of Manassas Park, VA. to provide technical expertise and management support in the Congressionally directed consolidation of it's land mobile communications. The system design and authorization process includes negotiations with other Government agencies and coordination with Canada and Mexico. The system's infrastructure will affect all 50 states, Guam and Puerto Rico. Communications are critical to the law enforcement mission of the entire Justice department and essential as the lifeline in critical safety of life situations. The anticipated period of performance will be for one base year with the possibility of one additional extension. This notice is for informational purposes only. Responses received as a result of this intent, shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposal or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Note 26 applies.
