Y -- DESIGN/BUILD CLIMATE CONTROLLED PURGE AIR SYSTEM BUILDING 734 POPE AFB NC SOL F31601-00-R0014 DUE 032500 POC Ms.Kathleen Francis Phone 910-394-6253 Design/Build a climate controlled purge air system for Nose Dock No. 5, Building 734 at Pope Air Force Base NC. The project consists of the demolition of the existing axial flow system and overhead wing exhaust system. Provide axial flow supply fans and exhaust fans for the hangar area suitable for a fuel cell environment. Provide an overhead wing ventilation/exhaust system suitable for a fuel cell environment. The conditioned air shall be introduced into the fuel tanks of one C-130 aircraft, or up to two A-10 aircraft. The overhead wing ventilation/exhaust system shall be provided with explosion proof air dampers in order to control the air flow in certain sections of the aircraft wings. The office area shall be provided with a wall exhaust fan. Provide a direct digital control system to accomplish the following: a.The control system shall be capable of controlling the supply air temperature and relative humidity for the overhead wing exhaust system. b. The control system shall control the axial flow supply fans and exhaust fans, as well as the air dampers in the overhead wing exhaust system. All electrical switches inside the hangar area shall be Class I, Division I. The exhaust fans and supply fans shall shut down upon activation of the fire alarm system. The natural gas supply to the facility shall be provided with a shut-off valve capable of turning off the gas supply upon activation of the fire alarm system. The request for proposal will be issued on or about 25 Feb 00. The performance period will be included in the request for proposal. Estimated cost of this requirement is between $250,000. and $500,000.
