The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to place a sole source purchase order to Giesecke & Devrient American, Inc. for proprietary spare parts for the Off-Line Currency Inspection Systems for the Washington, D.C. Ft. Worth Texas facilities. This procurement action is for supplies in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 and 13.106-1. See numbered note 22. The resulting purchase order will exceed the simplified purchase threshold. The procedures set forth in FAR 13.5 shall be used. These proprietary spare parts will be used on the off-line currency inspection systems previously purchased from Giesecke & Gevrient American, Inc.
