Commercial Acquisition: The United States Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), AZ has a requirement for six each 8-channel Microphone Preamplifiers (Aphex Model No. 1788) and 48 each extension cables (Aphex Model No. XLRP-XLRJ-6) in support of the USAYPG Electronics Branch. The supplies are considered commercial in nature and award will be based on acquisition of commercial items under FAR Part 12, and a 100% small business set-aside under SIC code 4899 (Contractors earning under $11 million in annual receipts). A written solicitation will not be issued and award will be made based on responses to this synopsis request. USAYPG intends to award this contract on the 11th day after publication of this notice; therefore, only proposals received before the close of business on the tenth day after publication of this notice shall be considered. Salient characteristics are as follows: The preamplifier systems delivered shall possess the following minimum salient characteristics: Voltage for microphone bias: Each channel shall have individually programmable microphone bias. Continuously variable gain: Shall have a gain step sizes of one(dB) or less. Size: Shall contain eight pre-amplifiers in 2RU space and must be 19 inch rack mountable includes rack. Controllability: The full functionality of the preamplifier shall be remote controlled. Preamplifier shall be remote controlled by MIDI, RS-232 or RS-422 (users choice). If the control protocol is MIDI, anything producing MIDI can act as the controller. MIDI control software provided with pre-amplifier shall be included. The systems shall provide an RS-422 output port, which shall be used to daisy chain units together. The control software shall display all parameters and metering of one unit at a time. The software shall be capable of controlling up to 16 units sequentially. All channel status information and metering shall be displayed in real time. The systems shall be channel-selectable and permit modification of all settings. The systems shall be capable of saving scenes, modifying and recalling data via the control software. All the above features shall be accessible through all control ports. 26dB Pad: The system shall possess a 26dB pad which shall allow a preamplifier to be run as a unity gain buffer stage which shall allow the line level output of a wireless microphone receiver to be fed into the preamplifier. Separate analog outputs: The main output on XLR shall be transformerless servo-balanced and the second output shall be transformerless balanced on a DB25 multi-pin connector. Display: The system shall posses a twelve segment LED meter displaying headroom and two eight segment LED's for showing input gain or maximum output level on either of the two analog outputs. All preamplifier system indicators shall be capable of being monitored from a remote location. Headphone output: Shall be any-channel selectable and output level adjustable. Units shall possess, Microphone Output Limiter, Test Tone Generator and Adjustable maximum output level. Delivery shall be F.O.B. to U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona within 60 days of award.
