The 109th Airlift Wing (109 AW) needs to identify sources that are capable of providing extreme cold weather boots for use in Greenland and the Antarctic region in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF). These boots must be: Sorel "Extreme" or equal with the following characteristics: 13mm ThermoPlus 100 removable felt InnerBoot, 13mm removable "Meltdown Midsole", 1000 denier Cordura nylon water resisten upper, molded rubber heel patch for durability, drawstring powder cuff topline, D-ring lacing system, rated for -100 degrees F, color: black, sizes: 8-14. In addition we have a need for sources of Sorel "Alaska" or equal with the following characteristics: guaranteed waterproof construction with weatherproof leather and sealed seams, 13mm ThermoPlus removable felt InnerBoot, 13mm Sorel "Meltdown Midsole" mesh and closed-cell foam, Propex padded collar and tongue, speed lacing system, rated to -100 degrees F, color: spicewood, sizes: 8-14.
