Paul Grahovac, pg2@inel.gov. A -- Advanced coating deposition
technology. This is a potential technology development and licensing
opportunity with Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC (BBWI), the prime operating
contractor for the Department of Energy at the Idaho National
Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). This system targets
the need for new coating deposition technology that provides higher
quality than chemical vapor depostion (CVD) and high velocity oxyfuel
spray (HVOF) but at a cost competitive with powder plasma spray
techniques. Preliminary studies also show promise for coating particles
including solid or hollow glass spheres and powders. Applications for
such technology include aircraft engine manufacturing, chrome plating,
marine industries, electronics, thermal barriers, corrosion barriers,
erosion barriers, and functional dense / functional porous coatings
used as electrical coatings and for energy storage devices. BBWI is
seeking a written indication of interest from companies interested in
licensing and commercializing this technology. Licensing may be
exclusive or nonexclusive and will include payment of an up-front
license fee and a running royalty based on use and/or sales of the
technology. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to
BBWI or the Department of Energy. This Request for Interest (RFI) will
close to response 60 days after publication. Interested parties should
send e-mail to pg2@inel.gov (Paul Grahovac, Senior Account Executive,
Technology Transfer & Commercialization, BBWI). If you do not have
e-mail access, send regular mail to Paul Grahovac, Senior Account
Executive, Technology Transfer & Commercialization, BBWI, P. O. Box
