The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), St. Inigoes, MD intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for the duration of three years with Litton Data Systems, 29851 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills, California 91376-6008 to obtain repair and replacement parts and engineering services for Interrogator Set AN/UPX-24(V) and its subassemblies. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Litton is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AN/UPX-24(V). As such, it is the only source possessing the specialized knowledge of the equipment required to identify faults, make needed repairs, and provide the high level of field and system engineering and spares support necessary to upgrade the system and correct major problems as they occur.
