The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Carfax Publishing Limited. The statutory authority to negotiate with Carfax Publishing Limited is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) under FAR 6.302-1. The objective of the proposed contract is to publish conference papers in a supplement to the journal Addiction, a premier international journal in addiction research. The supplement will serve as a valuable resource for researchers who seek NIAAA funds to conduct health services research on alcohol-related topics. The supplement will comprise of an introduction, eight to ten substantive papers, and a final synthesis paper. The proposed contractor is the leading international journal in addiction research and is the only complany that can ensure wide circulation of the publication to a broad clinical as well as addiction research audience.
