Potential sources are sought to determine if adequate competition will be received for FY00 MCA PN 46902, Whole Barracks Renewal, Phase 2a (IJK), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. This project includes the construction of: two 5-story barracks (approx. 12,000 square meters); a soldiers community building (approx. 1,600 sm); seven company operations buildings with gear wash areas (approx. 11,400 sm); two battalion headquarters buildings (approx. 2,900 sm); an enlisted dining facility (approx. 2,700 sm); a training facility (approx. 1,200 sm); a one million gallon water storage tank; a telephone remote switching building; water, sewer, storm drainage, electrical distribution, a standby emergency generator with fuel storage and telecommunications infrastructure; roads and parking lots; landscaping; and related appurtenances. The project also includes the demolition of eight buildings including three 3-story concrete barracks (approx. 22,000 sm) with asbestos and lead containing paint. The estimated constructioncost is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. The performance period is 1,203 calendar days. It is anticipated that this project will be solicited as an unrestricted procurement. Solicitation to be issued on/about April 28, 2000. Selection will be based on evaluation factors and price.
