daviaj@inel.gov. A -- Treatment planning method and software for
targeted radionuclide therapy and brachytherapy. This is a potential
licensing opportunity with Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC (BBWI), the prime
operating contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho
National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). BBWI has
developed a new technology for use in targeted radionuclide therapy and
brachytherapy. The treatment planning method and software for targeted
radionuclide therapy and brachytherapy is an accurate,
medical-image-based method for computation of radiation dose
distributions . The software modules compute dosimetry and treatment
planning for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). Unique features of
the technology include coupling of sophisticated spline-based geometric
reconstruction capability with the appropriate radiation transport
modules, permitting more precise, patient-specific target and
peripheral organ definition, construction of dose-volume histograms,
and other pertinent clinical information than is the case with other
methods. BBWI is seeking a written indication of interest from industry
partners interested in entering into a license agreement for the
purpose of further development and commercializing this technology.
This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to BBWI or the
Department of Energy. This Request for Interest (RFI) will close to
response 30 days after publication. Interested parties should send
e-mail to daviaj@inel.gov (Alan Davis, Account Executive, Technology
Transfer Office, BBWI). If you do not have e-mail access, send regular
mail to Alan Davis, Account Executive, Technology Transfer Office,
BBWI, P. O. Box 1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3805. Posted 01/04/00
