Honduran Social Investment Fund (FHIS), with financial assistance from
the United States Agency for International Development Mission in
Honduras, invites expressions of interest and submission of
pre-qualification questionnaires for the purpose of shortlisting
construction firms from the USA and Honduras who can demonstrate
extensive experience and capability in the area of reconstruction and
expansion of water, sanitation and drainage systems. The Honduran
Government is starting the reconstruction and expansion of water and
sanitation works damaged by Hurricane Mitch. The rehabilitation program
will be implemented by FHIS and directly managed by UGE. Financing for
this activity originates from the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID) and the Government of Honduras. All
contracting processes under the the Water and Sanitation Program will
conform to the GOH/USAID Host Country Contracting Procedures. USAID
host country contracting and Government of Honduras contracting
procedures. The Water and Sanitation Program will rehabilitate and
expand and construct water, sewerage, drainage and small sanitary
landfills systems in 50 Honduran Municipalities. The combined, total
value of the contracts will be approximately US$60 million. Only
pre-qualified construction firms from Honduras and the USA are eligible
to bid on these works. The rehabilitation works financed under the
Water and Sanitation Activity will include the following: 107 water,
sewerage, drainage, basic services for housing projects for displaced
families and small sanitary landfills in 50 Honduran Municipalities.
Typical works include water intake structures, conduction lines,
distribution networks, sewerage networks and collectors, pumping
stations, stabilization ponds or trickling filters, superficial
concrete lined drainage canals etc., The completed pre-qualification
information and related statements must be received no later than
5:00PM, January 15, 2000 at the following address: Ram n Cardona,

Tegucigalpa, M.D.C. The preferred method of distribution of procurement
information is via the INTERNET or by request of a solicitation on a
3.5" Floppy Disk. If you require a copy of the solicitation in paper

of this pre-qualification questionnaire through the INTERNET must be
