This is a sources sought synopsis: A solicitation is not currently available, however, the following description is provided to assist offerors in determining their interest in providing the requested services. Services, Non Personal: Contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, services, and materials for packing, unpacking, containerization, drayage, and storage of household goods and personnel effects for members at Laughlin AFB. Laughlin AFB is located approximately six miles east of Del Rio, TX. Services will be performed in accordance with Personal Property Traffic Management Regulation (PPTMR) DOD 4500.34R, Oct 91, and the Performance Work Statement (PWS)which will be included in the solicitation package. A base period of 12 months is anticipated with two one-year option periods. The estimated performance start date is 01 January 2001. POTENTIAL OFFERORS ARE INVITED TO RESPOND WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: a.(1) Evidence of progressive and responsible experience. Discuss the experience that key management personnel possess; number of years of experience in providing packing and crating services. (2) Describe the present workforce and ability to provide adequate, trained personnel to perform this requirement. b. Evidence of sufficient financial capacity, working capital and the financial, technical and management resources to perform the contract without financial assistance from the Government. To document this capacity, the offeror shall provide a financial plan and credit history for undertaking this or similar service requirements described herein. Submit a copy of a current (six-month period) financial statement. This statement will be certified as true, accurate and in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 4783. For the purpose of this procurement the small business size standard is 18.5 Mil. Small Business (SB) concerns should indicate interest in this acquisition by providing to the Contracting Officer, not later than 15 calendar days of this notice, evidence of capability to perform this requirement and a positive statement of eligibility as a small business concern. If adequate responses are not received from small business concerns, the acquisition may be solicited on an unrestricted basis.
