The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract for the revitalization of two water towers on Lackland Air Force Base, Bldg 165 & Bldg 5710. All work shall be in conformance with the drawings and specifications including the furnishing of all materials, labor, plant, tools, equipment, and services necessary and incidental thereto. The work required to be performed by the Contractor consists of, but is not limited to, the following principal items: This Project consists of removal of lead-based paint, and repainting the Water Towers both inside and out, and repairing any defective or outdated electrical equipment. The existing soil is contaminated with lead and shall require remediation. A new altitude valve will be installed to replace the existing defective valve. New cathodic protection rectifiers with automatic control units will be installed to replace the existing rectifiers. The tanks will be repaired to include replacement of corroded nuts and bolts, addition of flapper valves, new insect screens and manways, pressure gauges and cutoff valves, and removal of obstruction lighting fixtures. The SIC is 1623. The Estimated Construction Cost Range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. CBD Note number 26 applies.
