Perry Parkway, Suite 5, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 D -- COTS SCHEDULING SOFTWARE DUE 012500 POC Carol Silverman, Contract
Specialist/Gary Rice, Contracting Officer/301-258-4505 The Department
of Commerce, Commerce Administrative Management System (CAMS) Support
Center, is seeking sources interested in providing
commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) scheduling software. This is not a
request for competitive proposals. The purpose of this notice is to
develop a list of qualified firms that can provide the required
software. The scheduling software must allow the user to submit batch
jobs with little or no human intervention. (Example: A user submits
three batch jobs. The first and second jobs can run independently, but
the third job should not be processed until the first two jobs are
complete. The scheduling software must permit the user to submit all
three jobs simultaneously and process the third job when the first two
jobs have been successfully completed or hold the third job if either
of the first two jobs fail.) This scheduling software must be able to
support multiple operating systems (IBM AIX, DEC UNIX 4.OE or higher,
Solaris 2.6 or higher, Sun OS, and Windows NT 4.0 SP5 orhigher);
support Oracle versions 7.3.4.X, 8.X, 8.0i or higher; support TCP/IP
and SQL*Net; be capable of initiating batch jobs by time of day,
successful completion of prior steps, the presence of run on-demand
values contained within specific fields, the arrival of new ASCII files
or Oracle tables; provide the capability to support static time-of-day
constraints as well as specific values placed in an Oracle table,
and/or job success and stop completion logic; support variable job
streaming; support static and dynamic parameters or arguments; support
routing of job results and error messages; have the capability to
minimally monitor and control jobs on a real-time basis from one or
more administrative nodes on a network (a graphical user interface
(GUI) is required); support auto restart and recovery; have the
capability to support access control for specific users; and be Year
2000 (Y2K) compliant. Interested firms should submit a letter of
interest and a description of their product to the Contract Specialist
indicated above at the address indicated above or sent via facsimile
transmission to 301-258-4525. Responses will be accepted until
1/25/2000. Firms responding to this announcement are not guaranteed to
be included on any resulting source list for future Requests for
Proposals (RFPs) related to this requirement. Posted 01/05/00
