13 -- PAP7993 SINGLE BASED GRANULAR PROPELLANT SOL DAAE30-00-R0508 DUE 031500 POC Richard V. Bienduga WEB: US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC Procurement Network, http://procnet.pica.army.mil/cbd/RFP/00R0508/00R0508.htm. E-MAIL: Richard V. Bienduga, bienduga@pica.army.mil. MANUFACTURE PAP7993 SINGLE BASED GRANULAR PROPELLANT FOR USE IN THE M231 MACS PROPELLANT CHARGE INCREMENTS. 1. The US Army intends to award a contract with two options to make the single based PAP7993 propellant to support the production of the M231 propelling charge. Increments for the MACS main propellant system as follows:1) Basic=1,400,00 pounds. 2) Option I= 510,000 pounds. 3) Option II= 591,000 pounds. 2. This effort is the initial production of M231 charge scheduled in FY00. The 155MM MACS is a two-increment charge system that will provide enhanced performance for 155 MM artillery. Multiples of the increments, M231 (Jones 1&2) and XM232 (Zones 3 thru 6), will satisfy all zoning requirements for 155MM artillery. The 155MM MACS increments can be handled by both automatic loading/re-supply equipment and manually. Because of this versatility MACS increments can be used with currently fielded howitzers and future planned artillery systems. 3. Delivery of the Basic Quantity of PAP7993 propellant must be 150 days after award of contract. 4. The Government intends to limit competition to the United States and Canada and the Operating Contractor for Radford Army Ammunition Plant, Radford VA and Expro Chemical, Quebec, Canada. All the technical data will be marked with limited distribution statement F. Further dissemination only as directed by MACS Engineering Team, AMSTA-AR-WEE-B, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 or higher DoD authority. Posted 01/06/00 (D-SN413613). (0006)
