This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The 109th Airlift Wing (109 AW) requires extreme cold weather clothing sets for use in the Antarctic region in support of the National Science Foundation (NSF). These sets consist of a 5(five)piece ensemble or equivalent of the following items: 1) headsock, 2) jacket, 3) bib trousers, 4) fleece liner jacket and 5) fleece liner trouser. Headsock is made from Double Velour Polartec 3400 fleece or equal, color is black. Jacket is made from 4.5oz Nomex and 6 oz quilted Primaloft or equal, color is olive drab green outside and black inside, underarm zipper for extra ventilation, 2 (two)zippered front pockets, 2 (two) zippered chest pockets, high collar reinforced with Supplex Nylon for more wind resistance, adjustable elastic cord in hem, generously cut for easy layering, arm mobility is a major factor, 2 (two) way separating #5 (five)molded and coil zippers YKK only with 3mm high glow zipper pulls, Supplex Nylon for all pocket linings, thread used must be Tex 40 Polyester or equal, Permaspun for overlock stitches corespun for top stitching. Bib trousers must be olive drab green outside and black inside, extra long in back, full side zipper as specified in jacket, adjustable tightly knit elastic suspenders, durable Supplex articulated knee patches, thread as specified in jacket. Fleece liner jacket must be made from Velour Polartec 3400 or equal, color is black. Fleece liner trouser must be made from Velour Polartec 3400 or equal, color is black. Currently we have requirements for 7 (seven)size small tops and bottoms, 7 (seven) size medium tops and bottoms and 4 (four) size large tops and bottoms. Future requirements are anticipated.
