NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to provide support in the integration of Module Integrator Rules-Based Intelligent Analytical Database (MIRIAD) based tools into the Engineering Support Room (ESR) at the Glenn Research Center in support of Space Station operations. This will support a currently ongoing flight program. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Maxwell Technologies Systems Division located in San Diego, CA 92123. This procurement is being sole sourced to Maxwell Technologies because they are the only company capable of meeting the Government's time requirements and due to their vast knowledge and involvement with developing the MIRIAD software. The procurement will integrate applications created by Maxwell under previously awarded contracts. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 1/10/2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
