A -- MOLECULAR GENERATION OF A CHROMOGRANIN A "KNOCKOUT" SOL RFQ 600-131-99 DUE 012100 POC Teri Deihl/Sandy Knapp, FAX 562-494-5828 The VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Genome Systems, Inc, Berkeley, MO under the authority of FAR 6.302-1,only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is for the molecular generation of a Chromogranin A "Knockout" for the VA San Diego Healthcare System, Research Department. The "Knockout" is a highly sophisticated procedure in which the chromogranin A gene is disrupted (ablated) and is required for an ongoing research program. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by 4:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time, January 21, 2000, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Goverment.
