COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 10,2000 PSA#2512Ballistic Missile Defense Organization, 1725 Jefferson Davis Highway,
Suite 809, Arlington, VA 22202 R -- MISSILE DEFENSE SCIENTIFIC ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
(SETA) POC Mr. Eric Ottinger, Contracting Officer, BMDO/CTN, (703)
604-4622, CBD Reference Number: BMDO 00-05 The Ballistic Missile
Defense Organization (BMDO) intends to award a follow-on contract on a
sole source basis to Computer Sciences Corporation, Incorporated
(CSC), for continuing scientific, engineering, and technical assistance
(SETA) support to the National Missile Defense (NMD) Joint Program
Office (JPO). The anticipated period of performance is thirty months
starting July 2000. The estimate for Direct Productive Labor Hours
(DPLH) is 1,650,000 DPLH. During this period, in support of the NMD
Lead System Integrator (LSI) contract, the NMD JPO will accomplish a
Deployment Readiness Review (DRR) and a Defense Acquisition Board
review. If the President directs deployment of the NMD System after the
DRR, deployment planning and execution will proceed on a very expedited
schedule. Due to the risks and difficulties inherent in the expedited
schedule and the nature of the support provided by CSC, no break in
continuity will be acceptable during this period. Based on its
extensive and comprehensive experience with the NMD LSI program, only
CSC can provide the continuity necessary to ongoing NMD JPO efforts
without unacceptable delays for staffing, familiarization, and
training. See numbered Note 22.***** Posted 01/06/00 (W-SN413608).
