experience in critical care areas, to include ICU, Telemetry and PACU
and RNs with Emergency Department experience, to perform services at
Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Tacoma, Washington for the period
of 1 Mar 2000 (or date of award if subsequent thereto) through 28 Feb
2001 for the Base period, plus a one year option period. Services may
be required 24 hrs/day, 7 days/wk to include Federal Holidays. Shifts
in the ED will be fixed requiring 1 nurse per 12/hr day shift and 1
nurse per 12/hr night shift 7 days per week. Schedules in the critical
care areas will be provided to the contractor a minimum of 2 weeks in
advance and will be based on need. The average anticipated requirement
in these areas is 3 nurses per 12/hr day shift and 1 nurse per 12/hr
night shift. Minimum qualifications and certifications for RNs proposed
to perform in the Critical Care Areas at MAMC are: (a) A current active
license that is unrestricted and in good standing from a State or
Territory of the United States of Puerto Rico. (b) BCLS certification,
(c) ACLS (d) Documentation of annual attendance at JCAHO required
classes for infection Control and Safety, (e) Titrating IV medications,
managing patients on ventilators, independent administration of
emergency drugs, drawing arterial blood gases, and defibrillating
patients, (f) Physical and mental capability to perform all duties
described herein, (g) The equivalent of one year experience within the
last three years in the clinical area in which the employee will work.
Such experience shall have been in an acute care facility. Work in a
convalescent care type facility will not be considered acceptable
qualifying experience for RNs. Exceptions to the minimum one year
experience may be made on a case by case basis at the sole discretion
of the Chief Nurse. (h) Contract employees shall speak, understand,
read and write English fluently and enunciate with sufficient clarity
to be understood by MAMC personnel and patients. Minimum qualifications
and certifications for RNs proposed to work in the Emergency Department
are the same as those listed for the Critical Care areas with the
additional requirement for current PALS certification and NRP is
desirable. Information to be submitted with the proposal for evaluation
and approval includes credentials of each proposed employee and a
statement of availability to work at MAMC signed by each proposed

the company is CCR registered. RFPs may be sent via e-mail when an
e-mail address has been provided, Federal Express or other express
carrier who will pick up, at a company's request and EXPENSE. Otherwise
all solicitations requested will be sent via regular mail. The
estimated release date is 01/19/2000 with an estimated due date of
02/10/2000. The Government reserves the right to make multiple awards
if doing so represents the best overall value to the Government. All
