SOLICITATION NOTICE OF NEW STEAM PLANT, ROCKY MOUNTAIN LABORATORIES, HAMILTON, MONTANA. The National Institutes of Health, Acquisitions Branch C, has a requirement to provide a new steam plant at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Hamilton, Montana. The scope of work will include a base bid and one option. The base bid will include a new building with 3800 square feet of floor area plus a 1500 hp boiler, 20,000 gallon fuel oil storage tank, boiler chemical feed system, generator, power and lighting wiring, automatic controls, boiler stack, de-aerator tank, condensate tank, pumps, air handling unit, concrete, masonry, preinsulation, fire protection sprinkler system, water, steam, condensate, gas, compressed air and oil piping and miscellaneous other work. Bidders must have installed at least one boiler system of no less than 1500 hp within the last five years. The option will include the installation of one 1500 hp boiler. The basis of award will be the lowest total cost of the base bid plus the option which is subject to the availability of funds. Please note the period of performance is 210 calendar days from the notice to proceed inclusive of the option. The magnitude of this fixed price construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Specifications and Drawings will be available on or about February 4, 2000 from the Bid Custodian, Building 13, Room G800, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland 20892, at a non-refundable cost of $70.00 per set. Only money orders, certified checks and cashier's checks are acceptable, made payable to the National Institutes of Health. Personal checks or company checks will not be accepted. Request for IFB must be on company letterhead citing IFB No. 263-00-B(CM)-0211 and indicating the address to which all agenda and communications should be transmitted. Telephone requests will not be accepted. The pre-bid conference/site visit will be held on February 9, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Construction Trailer. All visitors must first check in at the Security Guard Station in Building 1. Further information concerning the bid opening will be noted in the IFB.
