In addition to the the requirements listed below, the corporate contract will require a contract line item number to cover obsolete parts. This proposed sole source acquisition to General Dynamics Land System (GDLS), the developer and current manufacturer of the M1A2 tank and Wolverine Heavy Assault Bridge, is planned to be a Corporate Contract for the production of up to 307 each M1A2 Abrams Upgrade Tanks with the System Enhancement Package (SEP) and up to 127 each Wolverine Heavy Assault Bridges (HAB's). The Wolverine HAB is a M1A2 SEP tank chassis with bridge and launch mechanism. The solicitation calls for 80 M1A2 SEP tanks in the base year with four years of options for the balance of up to 227 each additional M1A2 SEP tanks. The Wolverine HAB requirement is for 14 in the base year with four years of options for the balance of up to 113 each additional Wolverines. This synopsis is to alert potential contractors to the subcontracting opportunities that will be available from the prime contractor. See Note 22.
