Army Communications-Electronic Command (CECOM) Acquisition Center
intends to award a sole source modification to existing Contract
DAAB07-99-C-K511. The contract modification will enable the
multicoupler to filter a SATCOM radio signal in addition to the base
requirements. The current design is limited to a configuration of one
EPLRS with the NTDR and/or AN/ARC-164. A modification to include an
additional channel for a SATCOM device would increase the number of
platform applications. Xetron is scheduled to deliver the UHF
Multicoupler prototype in March 2000. The Government intends to solicit
and negotiate with Only One Responsible Source, Xetron, under authority
of Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(b)(1). It is not feasible
that another contractor, other than Xetron Corporation, can adequately
perform the required architectural modification within the timeframe
to support Early User Tests. No solicitation will be forthcoming. A
determination not to compete this contract action, based upon responses
to this notice, is solely with the discretion of the Government. SEE
