Station, Bldg 2272, Lexington Park, MD 20670 B -- MULTI-ROLE ENDURANCE UAV RISK ASSESSMENT POC Contact, Mike
McLoughlin, Phone (301) 757-5898 U.S. Navy, PEO(CU), PMA-263, NAS
Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547 SUBJECT: Announcement of intent to
release a Broad Agency Announcement for the Multi-Role Endurance UAV
Risk Assessment DESC: The Program Executive Office for Cruise Missiles
and Joint Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (PEO(CU)) is entering the
Determination of Mission Needs phase for the next priority UAV system
on the Naval UAV Executive Steering Group: Naval MAE. For the purposes
of this analysis, the terms MAE (Medium Altitude Endurance) and MRE
(Multi-Role Endurance) are interchangeable. This analysis is one of the
SECNAV and DoD required elements for a Milestone 0 on a possible
acquisition program. The Program Office is seeking participation from
those offerors who have demonstrated and/or proven capability as either
systems integrators or manufacturers of aircraft or UAV Systems. The
MRE RA Program objectives are to: Develop a final MNS -- investigate
the viability of the capstone documents -- identify the complementary
requirements that are most readily achieved by the system, some
concurrently Provide a Risk Assessment -- identify potential
configurations (payload, C4I, aircraft) and their associated risks --
identify critical technologies requisite for success Perform an
analysis of Alternatives -- Generate the best argument possible for MRE
