intent to issue the New Orleans Metropolitan Area Acquisition Request
for Proposals. The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal
Technology Service (FTS) is requesting proposals for New Orleans,
Louisiana metropolitan area telecommunications services. The Request
for Proposals will be released on or about January 31, 2000. A site
survey is scheduled for February 2, 2000. The resulting contract scope
includes all local telecommunications services. The scope also
includes, but is not limited to, technological enhancements, service
improvements and all new and/or emerging telecommunications service
offerings that arise during the term of the contract. The Request for
Proposal will specify the traffic information and any specific
technical or management requirements for the metropolitan area. The
Government encourages partnering between small and large businesses. A
site survey of representative federal office buildings in the Greater
Metropolitan Area of New Orleans will be conducted on February 2,
2000, starting at 9:00 AM local time. The site survey will begin in the
Hale Boggs Federal Building; 501 Magazine Street, Room 1044; New
Orleans, LA 70130. Potential offerors interested in attending the site
survey must notify Mr. Robert Mayo at (504) 645-0240 no later than
3:30 PM on February 1, 2000. Photographic equipment may not be used
during the site survey and a maximum of three representatives per
company will be accommodated. The Request for Proposals will only be
available in Microsoft Word 6.0 format on GSA's Internet mail address
at http://www.gsa.gov/maa, and on GSA's Electronic Posting System
Internet address at http://www.eps.gov. Offerors are encouraged to
begin monitoring these web sites for the actual release of the Request
for Proposals. The Government anticipates receipt of offeror proposals
ninety (90) calendar day after issuance of the Request for Proposals.
