R -- ADVISORY AND ASSISTANCE SOL 87-0-19237 POC Linda Catterton, 301-457-1840 The Bureau of the Census intends to issue a sole source contract to Eugene Rogot, 9504 Forest Road, Bethesda, MD 20814 to provide services in linking the database of the National Longitudinal Mortality Study (NLMS) with that of the SEER Cancel Registry. This linkage will allow for researchers at the National Cancer Institute to obtain information necessary for tracking case histories and the eventual mortality outcomes across all demographic and socio-economic levels of society. Mr. Rogot was the leader of the team which developed the first pilot studies matching the National Death Index to the NLMS. This past experience gives Mr. Rogot the required background to fully contribute to all currently planned match processing activities intended for the NLMS. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement no greater than 5 days from the published date of this announcement to the above address. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements.
