JOINT CHEM FIELD TRIALS (JCFT) FOR PERSONAL/COLLECTIVE PROTECTION DEVICES/TECHNOLOGIES 65-MEDCIAL The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is sponsoring a technical test for chemical and biological medical defense equipment/technologies as part of the proposed Restoration of Operations (RestOps) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD). The technical testing will provide technology developers an opportunity to demonstrate the potential of their equipment /technologies for inclusion in the RestOps ACTD or future chemical and biological defense programs. This will also provide developers an opportunity to obtain unique performance data that can be used in their developmental work. Medical equipment and technologies participating in the technical testing may become visible to a number of U.S. and foreign agencies. Equipment /technologies will be evaluated for their capability in one or more of the following: 1) prophylaxis, 2) patient decontamination, 3) patient treatment, 4) patient evacuation, 5) medical diagnostics, 6) medical personnel and collective protection, 7) handling ofcontaminated remains, 8) command, control, and communication, and 9) psychiatric management. Equipment/technologies must be at a stage of development as to be developed, tested, and ready for use within one year. Testing will be conducted from June through December 2000 (tentative). Testing location to be determined. To be considered, developers/sponsors must supply the following in writing no later than close of business January 31, 2000: 1) a description of equipment /technologies to include all characteristics and capabilities, 2) all relevant test reports, and 3) length of time equipment/technologies have been in development/production.
