66 -- PARTICLE SIZER ANALYZER SOL N00167-00-Q-0105 POC Hugh Harrison, (301)227-1123 The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, intends on procuring a Particle Sizer Analyzer for the purpose of evaluation of innovative oil content monitor designs.The analyzer must be suitable for field deployment in terms of ruggedness and portability, capable of measuring and deriving particle size distribution, particle area concentration, particle volume concentrations, total particle area and volume, Sauter mean diameter, volume scattering function, optical transmission, small angle scattering measurements, and is capable of measuring and deriving the required particle size parameters. Particle size specifications have a size range of 1.25-25 ppm, concentration range of 0.1 -- 1,000 mg/L, and a resolution of 32 particle size classes. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements may be faxed to (301) 227-5784.
