The Immigration and Naturalization Service intends to negotiate and award a modification to the existing contract ACD-8-C-0009 with Correction Corporation of America, 10 Burton Hills Blvd., Nashville, TN 37215, for temporary residential care and secure detention of undocumented aliens at Laredo, Texas. The period of the contract will be from date of issuance of the modification through the expiration of the current contract which is 9/30/02 (if all options are exercised). The contractor is to provide all necessary management, labor, supervision, equipment and a facility to detain and house up to 200 detainees. The facility must be located within the city limits of Laredo, Texas. The contractor must provide transportation between the two facilities, a minimum of two offices to be used to conduct interviews and adequate parking for Government employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
