The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the repair and replacement of chain link fence and associated components to be performed on the NIST campus and Annex located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This requirement is restricted to small business firms in the Small Business Adminstration (SBA) Washington District. The SIC Code is 1799. The corresponding size standard is $7 mllion. The Government anticipates award of an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity type contract with task orders to be issued on a firm fixed price basis. The period of performance for the contract will be a twelve-month base year period with two one-year option periods. The scope of work includes repair of chain link fence on short notice and replacement of fence fabric and associated components. Contractors will be provided a descriptive specification and drawings for each task order. Contractors will be required to submit a proposal on a fixed price basis for approximately 200 line items. The total magnitude of construction to be awarded through the life of the contract is between $250,000 and $500,000 inclusive of options. The anticipated minimum amount is $1,000 for the life of the contract. Copies of the solicitation must be requested in writing and received not later than January 27, 2000. The solicitation will be issued on January 28, 2000. Proposals will be due at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on February 28, 2000.
