25 -- HIGH PERFORMANCE HYDRAULIC PUMP POC Contact Terry DuBois, (703) 492-3349/Contracting Officer, John Martin, (03) 492-3329 The Direct Reporting Program Manager (DRPM) for the Marine Corps Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) is conducting market research to determine the commercial availability (i.e. pumps in production) of a high performance hydraulic pump which can meet the requirements of the AAAV. The hydraulic pump shall be dual pressure with normal operation at 3500 psig and 5000 psig selectable via a electric solenoid, operate on MIL-H-83282 hydraulic fluid over a temperature range of 40 oF to 225 oF, produce a minimum flow of 48.5 gallons per minute (gpm) at a speed of 4108 rpm (maximum speed = 5214 100 rpm, overspeed = 5688 100 rpm), weight no more than 40 lbs., have an electronic means to depressurize the pump to 1500 psig (for reduction of start peak torque), meet proof pressure of 7500 psig and burst pressure of 8750 psig, and be able to achieve a mean-time-between-failure of 15,750 hrs. The AAAV hydraulic system incorporates a pressurized reservoir which provides a pump inlet pressure of 70 psig while operating at 3500 psig pump discharge pressure and 100 psig with a pump discharge pressure of 5000 psig. The hydraulic pump must be able to withstand the extreme military environmental conditions as well as vibration and shock loads associated with tracked vehicles. Additional general information on the AAAV program is on the AAAV web page http://www.aaav.usmc.mil). The AAAV point of contact is Mr. Terry G. DuBois, telephone (703) 492-3349 or email duboist@aaav.usmc.mil. The closing date for this request is January 31, 2000. Companies with existing hydraulic pumps which meet or exceed the above requirements should provide design characteristics and performance data to the : AAAV Technology Center, DRPM AAA, ATTN: Mr. William S. Story, Department 203, 991 Annapolis Way, Woodbridge, VA 22191-1215. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS.***** Posted 01/13/00 (W-SN415769). (0013)
