NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS SOL DAAA03-00-T-0029, DUE 21 JAN 00. The Pine Bluff Arsenal intends to award a sole source, simplified acquisition to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), one of the Premier Historically Black Colleges and University in the South Central Region and an Education Nonprofit Institution. This requirement is for services to install new PC hardware, upgrade current personal computer (PC) hardware and upgrading current PC software as needed by Pine Bluff Arsenal. Pine Bluff Arsenal has over 500 installed personal computers. These PC's include 486, and Pentium computers using Microsoft Windows NT V 4.0, or Windows 95 or 2000 operating system software. Several software applications are used with the most common being Microsoft Office, and FTP's OnNet for networking. The application currently being used on the PC's require constant upgrades. As new hardware is acquired, the appropriate software must be installed. Hardware upgrades such as additional memory, CD-ROM, etc. will be performed. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Award wil be made using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested concerns may submit a capability statement within 7 days after the publication date of this notice. All timely responses will be considered, however, a determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon the responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
