PORTABLE IN-HOUSE CELLULAR PHONE SYSTEM SOL RFP No 636-13-00 DUE 022900
POC Karen Goodell, Contracting Officer, 402-449-0613 Contractor shall
furnish all necessary labor, tools, equipment and materials to modify
existing and install new Merridian Companion Cell Phone equipment in
the areas being renovated on Floors 2, 5, 6, and 7 at the Department of
Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska
68105 as specified and as shown on drawings and specifications. Scope
of work includes procurement and installation of new Nortel Merridian
Companion cell phone equipment at locations designated on drawings. The
contractor to provide a fully functional and working system and perform
all necessary design and layout work. The contractor is required to
provide a shop drawing for VA approval showing all wiring and layout of
work prior to installation. Labor is to be provided by a qualified
Nortel cell phone system installer. Contractor is required to procure
equipment from the GSA contract for Nortel Companion equipment. All
telephone wiring will be run through existing conduit or cable tray. No
loose wiring lying on suspended ceilings will be allowed. All cell
phone work on 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floor construction areas
will be coordinated with F & B Constructors, general contractor for
our Ward Renovation project. The contractor shall be responsible for
providing all equipment, qualified Nortel installers, and coordination
of delivery of equipment and tools necessary to modify existing and
install new Merridian Companion Cell Phone system. This acquisition
will be conducted under FAR Part 12 for commercial services. Salient
characteristics of the system include extension must be compatible and
match existing Nortel system, or equal. RFQ No. 636-13-00 has been
assigned to this solicitation and will be available approximately
January 20, 2000. SIC Code No. 4899 Communications Services, with a
size standard of $11.0 million will be used. All requests for this
