The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Systems Program Office, Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, Florida, intends to issue a contract to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, on a sole source basis for production of JDAM lots 4 and 5 in accordance with their competitively proposed Production Price Commitment Curve (PPCC). A previous synopsis was issued 16 June 1999 addressing these actions. Additionally, as part of the lot 4 production contract, the program office plans an award for a fixed priced option to incorporate a tailfin configuration change. The program office issued a prior synopsis for JDAM on 5 June 1995, which addressed the overall acquisition approach of downselecting to a single contractor for award of EMD Phase II, Low Rate Initial Production lots and receipt of the PPCC for lots 3 through 5. A class Justification and Approval for the sole source award of all production contracts was obtained.
