16 -- TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THIN-PACK PARACHUTE SURVIVAL ENSEMBLE FOR E-2C AIRCRAFT SOL N68936-00-G-0001 DUE 021400 POC William T Monckton, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-8234 Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to conduct negotiations on an other-than-competitive basis with SEI, Asheville, NC for support of the Thin-Pack Parachute (TPP) E-2C Aircraft Parachute Survival Ensemble (A/P22P-20 Crew Back Pack Assembly). The order will be issued under Basic Ordering Agreement N68936-00-G-0001 with SEI. Proposed Order type: Cost Plus Fixed Fee. Duration of order period: From date of Order award through September 2002. This is a continuation of the support provided under a previous contract. This support which is related to the Thin-Pack Parachute (TPP) E-2C Aircraft Parachute Survival Ensemble includes 1) identification and analysis of potential design improvements, 2) design improvement implementation, 3) design and project review support, 4) manufacture and modification of test assets, 5) test and evaluation support (including resealing of sealed assemblies), 6) the maintenance of the A/P22P-20 Crew Back Pack Assembly Drawing Package, and 7)project management and planning support. SEI is currently the only source for support relating to the Thin-Pack Parachute Product Line. They are the only source currently producing this Crew Back Pack Assembly incorporating the use of this Thin-Pack/ Lightweight Environmentally Sealed Parachute Assembly (LESPA) technology. No other source has SEI's unique knowledge and expertise in the Thin-Pack Parachute technology. In addition, the TPP E-2C Aircraft Parachute Survival Ensemble drawing package has proprietary markings making design information unreleasable.
